Search Login Main menu Welcome Calendar Meetings Events Officers Welcome to the Province of Silver Desert The Province of the Silver Desert is a branch group of the Principality of Cynagua in the Kingdom of the West. The West Kingdom is the birthplace of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). An "anachronism" is something being chronologically out of place. We re-enact the middle ages, approximately 600-1600 AD, as they should have been: no plagues and all are treated as gently born lords and ladies. The West Kingdom covers Northern California, Northern Nevada, Alaska, Japan, Korea, and the Pacific Rim. The Principality of Cynagua encompasses Northern Nevada and the Northern Central Valley & Sierras of California. The Province of the Silver Desert covers Washoe County, Nevada and portions of adjoining areas. Main population center of Washoe County is the Reno-Sparks area. We have regular get-togethers and two fighter practices/gathers. Please see the calendar of events for more information. There is something for everyone. We have willing and well-studied mentors in the areas of various arts, sciences, crafts, and skills. If you are interested in the middle ages, want an unusual experience, or are just curious, come check us out! Fight Practice (and general social gather) is held once a week: Sundays at 1:00 pm at Shelly Park . Provincial business meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of the month at 7pm.
